Post-Publication Discussion

Policy Statement

Jurnal Literasi Pendidikan Fisika (JLPF) recognizes the importance of scholarly discussion after publication in promoting scientific progress, transparency, and the continuous evaluation of published research.

JLPF welcomes constructive, evidence-based comments, questions, and critical discussions concerning articles published in the journal. Post-publication discussion should contribute to scholarly understanding and maintain a respectful, professional, and scientifically sound exchange of ideas.

Scope of Discussion

Post-publication discussion may address matters including, but not limited to:

  • the interpretation, validity, or significance of published findings;
  • the research design, methodology, data analysis, or conclusions;
  • the clarity, completeness, or reproducibility of the reported research;
  • additional evidence or alternative interpretations relevant to the published work; and
  • potential errors, inconsistencies, or concerns regarding research or publication ethics.

Comments should be relevant to the published article, supported by appropriate evidence or scholarly reasoning, and written in a constructive and respectful manner.

Submitting a Comment or Discussion

Readers who wish to submit a comment or raise a concern about an article published in JLPF may contact the editorial office at jlpf@fkip.unmul.ac.id.

Submissions should include the following information:

  1. the title and citation or DOI of the published article, where available;
  2. a clear explanation of the issue, question, or argument being raised;
  3. supporting evidence, references, or data where appropriate; and
  4. the name and institutional affiliation of the contributor, together with contact information.

The editorial office may request additional information when necessary to evaluate a submission. Submission of a comment does not guarantee publication.

Editorial Assessment

The Editor will assess submitted comments for relevance, scholarly merit, clarity, supporting evidence, and compliance with the journal's editorial and ethical standards.

Where appropriate, the Editor may seek an independent expert assessment or invite the authors of the original article to respond. The decision to publish a comment or response rests with the journal and will be based on its editorial assessment.

Comments that are unsupported, irrelevant, defamatory, abusive, or inconsistent with scholarly standards may be declined. Concerns involving potential research misconduct will be assessed under the journal's applicable publication ethics policies.

Authors' Right to Respond

When a submitted comment raises substantive questions about a published article, the Editor may invite the original authors to provide a response.

Authors are encouraged to respond to legitimate scholarly criticism in a factual, respectful, and evidence-based manner. Any response intended for publication will be subject to editorial assessment and must comply with the journal's publication standards.

Where feasible and appropriate, the journal may publish the comment and the authors' response together or link them to the original article to support a balanced scholarly discussion.

Corrections and Retractions

Post-publication discussion may identify errors or concerns that require action beyond a scholarly comment or response. If an issue may affect the accuracy, reliability, or integrity of a published article, the Editor will assess the available evidence and determine whether further action is necessary.

Depending on the circumstances, appropriate actions may include publishing a correction, an expression of concern, or a retraction. Such decisions will be handled in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics policy and relevant scholarly publishing standards.

A critical comment or disagreement with an article's interpretation does not, by itself, constitute grounds for correction or retraction. Editorial action will depend on the nature and significance of the evidence.

Ethical and Professional Conduct

All participants in post-publication discussion are expected to act professionally, disclose relevant conflicts of interest, respect confidentiality where applicable, and avoid personal attacks or unsupported allegations.

JLPF will assess concerns about possible research or publication misconduct in accordance with its relevant policies, including its Allegation of Research Misconduct policy.

JLPF Commitment

JLPF is committed to fostering constructive scholarly dialogue, maintaining the integrity of the published record, and ensuring that post-publication concerns are considered fairly, responsibly, and transparently.
