Establishment and Early Development
Jurnal Literasi Pendidikan Fisika (JLPF) is published by the Physics Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Mulawarman, Indonesia.
The journal released its first issue in November 2019, with the aim of providing a scholarly platform for research in physics education, scientific literacy, science learning, and related studies in education and physics.
Open Access Commitment
From its inception, JLPF has been committed to providing open access to its scholarly publications. Since 2020, all published articles have been made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License, allowing users to read, download, copy, distribute, and reuse published content, provided that appropriate attribution is given to the original authors.
Development Milestones
2020–2021
Refinement of the Aims and Scope, improvement of the Author Guidelines, and publication of the Open Access Statement and Publication Ethics pages.
2022
Strengthening of the peer-review process through the implementation of a double-blind peer-review system and the involvement of external reviewers.
2023
Improvements to the editorial workflow, enhancement of article metadata quality, and assignment of Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to published articles.
2024
Optimization of the Open Journal Systems (OJS) interface, improvement of metadata consistency, and standardization of manuscript formatting.
2025
Implementation of an Article Processing Charge (APC) to support sustainable publication, accompanied by updates to transparency, licensing, and publication ethics in line with scholarly publishing standards.
November 2026
JLPF adopted English as the language of all published articles, beginning with the November 2026 issue. The journal also standardized its manuscript template, making the English-language template the sole official template for authors. These changes aim to improve linguistic consistency, international accessibility, and the presentation of published research.
The manuscript template was also expanded to include a dedicated Declarations section to strengthen transparency, research integrity, accountability, and responsible reporting of scholarly work. The section covers the following statements:
- Conflict of Interest
- Funding
- Author Contributions
- Data Availability Statement
- Ethics Approval and Consent to Participate, where applicable
- Generative AI Declaration
Authors are required to complete the relevant declarations in accordance with the journal's guidelines and the nature of their research. These requirements are intended to improve reporting transparency, clarify author responsibilities, and support responsible research and publication practices.
Current Publication
JLPF publishes two issues per year, in April and November, and remains committed to disseminating high-quality scholarly work in physics education, physics, and related fields through an open-access publishing model.
The journal continues to strengthen its editorial management, peer-review procedures, publication ethics, digital preservation, metadata quality, and open-access practices in accordance with established scholarly publishing standards.
Continuing Commitment
JLPF continues to improve its editorial and publishing practices to support the dissemination of rigorous, original, transparent, and accessible research while upholding academic integrity and ethical standards. The journal will periodically review its policies and author guidelines to maintain clarity, consistency, and accountability in scholarly publishing.
