Journal History

Jurnal Literasi Pendidikan Fisika (JLPF) is published by the Physics Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Mulawarman. The journal released its first issue in November 2019 with the aim of providing a scholarly platform for research in physics education, scientific literacy, science learning, and applied studies in education.

From its inception, JLPF has been committed to being a fully open-access journal. Since 2020, all published articles have been made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, allowing users to read, download, copy, distribute, and reuse content as long as proper attribution is given to the original authors. This policy is reflected in the journal’s Open Access Statement and Copyright Notice.

To enhance the quality of its editorial and publishing practices, JLPF has undergone several key developments:

  • 2020–2021: Refinement of the Aim & Scope, improvement of Author Guidelines, and publication of the Open Access Statement and Publication Ethics pages.

  • 2022: Strengthening of the peer-review process, including the implementation of a double-blind review system and the addition of external reviewers.

  • 2023: Editorial workflow improvements, enhanced article metadata quality, and assignment of DOIs for all articles.

  • 2024: Optimization of the OJS interface, improved metadata consistency, and standardization of manuscript formatting.

  • 2025: Implementation of an Article Processing Charge (APC) to support sustainable publication, along with updates to transparency, licensing, and publication ethics to align with DOAJ standards.

JLPF currently publishes two issues per year and remains committed to providing high-quality, credible, and fully open-access scholarly publications aligned with international academic and ethical standards.
