Eksplorasi Persepsi dan Kesiapan Peserta Didik Sekolah Menengah terhadap Bencana Alam Lokal di Tengah Peristiwa Cuaca Ekstrem

Peristiwa cuaca ekstrem semakin berkontribusi terhadap bencana alam lokal, yang menimbulkan tantangan signifikan bagi masyarakat, terutama di wilayah rentan seperti Sumatera Selatan, Bangka Belitung dan Lampung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi persepsi dan kesiapan peserta didik sekolah menengah terhadap bencana alam lokal di tengah peristiwa cuaca ekstrem. Menggunakan desain penelitian fenomenologis kualitatif, penelitian ini melibatkan 21 peserta didik sekolah menengah yang dipilih melalui pengambilan sampel acak sederhana. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara semi-terstruktur, yang memberikan wawasan mendalam tentang perspektif partisipan. Analisis tematik dilakukan dengan menggunakan kerangka Miles dan Huberman, yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun peserta didik menunjukkan kesadaran dasar terhadap cuaca ekstrem, mereka menghadapi tantangan dalam memahami kaitan antara fenomena tersebut dengan bencana alam lokal. Kesiapan individu bervariasi, dan upaya mitigasi strategis terbatas, yang menunjukkan adanya kesenjangan dalam pengetahuan dan perilaku proaktif. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penting untuk mengintegrasikan pendidikan bencana yang disesuaikan dengan konteks lokal ke dalam kurikulum sekolah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman, kesiapan, dan ketahanan peserta didik, agar mereka dapat menghadapi risiko yang semakin meningkat akibat perubahan iklim.
