Plagiarism Screening Policy

Jurnal Literasi Pendidikan Fisika (JLPF) is committed to maintaining academic integrity and protecting all manuscripts and published articles from plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabrication, falsification, and other forms of publication malpractice.

Every manuscript submitted to JLPF is subject to plagiarism and similarity screening as part of the editorial process before the manuscript proceeds to peer review.

Similarity Screening

JLPF uses plagiarism and similarity detection tools, including Turnitin, to assist the editorial team in identifying substantial textual overlap between a submitted manuscript and existing publications or other sources.

The similarity score is used as an editorial screening indicator and does not, by itself, constitute a determination of plagiarism. The Editor evaluates the similarity report, including the sources, nature, extent, and context of the identified similarities.

Editorial Action

If substantial or inappropriate textual similarity is identified, the Editor may take one or more of the following actions, depending on the severity and nature of the case:

1. request clarification or correction from the authors;
2. return the manuscript to the authors for revision before peer review;
3. reject the manuscript when serious plagiarism or other publication malpractice is identified; or
4. take appropriate post-publication action if plagiarism or duplicate publication is discovered after publication.

Author Responsibility

Authors are fully responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are original and that all ideas, quotations, data, images, and other materials obtained from other sources are appropriately acknowledged and cited.

Authors are strongly encouraged to conduct a plagiarism or similarity check before submitting their manuscript to JLPF and to correct any inappropriate similarity before submission.

Authors should not rely solely on a similarity percentage. Proper citation, quotation, paraphrasing, and acknowledgment of sources remain the responsibility of the authors.

Duplicate Publication and Publication Misconduct

Manuscripts must not have been previously published and must not be simultaneously submitted to another journal.

If JLPF discovers that an article has been published elsewhere in substantially identical form, or that serious publication misconduct has occurred, the journal may take appropriate editorial action, including withdrawal or retraction of the article where applicable.

Such cases will be handled in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics and applicable scholarly publishing standards.
