THE STUDY OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE VALUES OF RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE IN HETEROGENEOUS SOCIETIES AT DISTRICT AIR PUTIH, SAMARINDA ULU

Abstract

The Study of the Implementation of the Values of Religious Tolerance in Heterogeneous Societies at District Air Putih, Samarinda Ulu. This research aims to describe the values of tolerance in worship and to explicate tolerance values in inter-religious association in heterogeneouscieties at District Air Putih. This research method was descriptive and qualitative. The data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data was analyzed through data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The research findings revealed that the values of tolerance in worshipping in heterogeneous societies at District Air Putih were shown in two forms. First, respect other people’s religion by giving them opportunity to organize worship. Second, by visiting people of other religions when they celebrate their feast day. Tolerance values in an inter-religion association that were implemented were open to differences, acceptance, and appreciation of kindness by people of other religions, and participation in community activities.
