Kondisi optimum pewarnaan serat daun doyo menggunakan pewarna alami dari ekstrak kulit akar Rhizopora stylosa
Abstract
Kain tenun (ulap) doyo merupakan produk tekstil suku Dayak Benuaq, Provinsi Kalimantan Timur, Indonesia. Kain ini dibuat dari serat daun doyo yang memiliki warna dasar putih-krem dan pewarna alami digunakan untuk mewarnainya. Bakau mengandung tanin yang dapat dijadikan pewarna alami. Pada proses pewarnaan benang atau serat dari daun doyo terjadi proses penyerapan warna oleh serat. Penelitian ini dirancang untuk menentukan kondisi optimum pewarnaan serat daun doyo menggunakan ekstrak kulit akar bakau (EKAB) spesies Rhizopora stylosa. Pembuatan zat warna dilakukan dengan perebusan kulit akar bakau kering menggunakan aquades. Pewarnaan serat doyo menggunakan teknik pencelupan. Uji beda warna (DI) serat yang diwarnai dianalisis menggunakan applikasi ImageJ. Hasil penelitian menunjukan pewarna alami dari EKAB berwarna cokelat tua. Kondisi optimum pewarnaan serat daun doyo menggunakan pewarna alami EKAB adalah: pH larutan pewarna 3, suhu pewarnaan 92°C, waktu pencelupan/pewarnaan 130 menit, material to liquor ratio (MLR) 1:100 (b/v), dan konsentrasi larutan pewarna pada tiga kali pemekatan. Hasil pewarnaan serat daun doyo menggunakan ekstrak kulit akar bakau adalah cokelat. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa kulit akar bakau dapat diaplikasikan sebagai sumber zat warna pada pewarnaan serat daun doyo.
