Focus and Scope

JSEL is devoted to full-length research or review of literature papers and to science education at the primary, secondary, and higher education levels. The editors welcome manuscripts on all subjects in the following areas of research:

  1. Innovation in Science Education: Discusses models, strategies, approaches, learning technologies, and innovative media.
  2. Development of Science Teaching Materials: Includes scientific or contextual-based teaching materials and integration of local/global issues, as well as project-based and problem-based learning.
  3. Scientific Research and Science Experiments: Examines laboratory and field experiments, development of teaching instruments, and applied research in the fields of physics, chemistry, biology, health, environment, energy, or technology.
  4. Science Education and Literacy: Focuses on science literacy, development of 21st-century skills, and student motivation and interest in understanding scientific concepts and their applications in life and the environment.
  5. Evaluation and Standardization of Science Education: Analyzes educational policies, laboratory standardization, teaching aids, the role of counseling, and student and teacher perceptions of science teaching methods.
