Publication System

The Borneo Physical Education Journal (BPEJ) follows a transparent, rigorous, and efficient publication system to ensure that every published article meets high standards of scientific quality, research integrity, and publication ethics. All submitted manuscripts undergo a structured editorial workflow before publication.

Publication Workflow

Step 1. Manuscript Submission

Authors submit their manuscripts through the BPEJ Online Journal System (OJS). All submissions must comply with the journal's Author Guidelines and use the latest article template.

Step 2. Initial Editorial Screening

The Editorial Office conducts a preliminary evaluation to verify:

  • Journal scope and relevance
  • Manuscript formatting
  • Completeness of submission files
  • Compliance with publication ethics
  • Similarity (plagiarism) screening

Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be returned to the authors or rejected before peer review.

Step 3. Editorial Assessment

The Editor-in-Chief or an Associate Editor evaluates the manuscript's originality, scientific merit, and suitability for external review.

Step 4. Double-Blind Peer Review

Suitable manuscripts are sent to at least two independent reviewers using a double-blind peer review system.

Reviewers evaluate:

  • Originality
  • Scientific contribution
  • Research methodology
  • Data analysis
  • Quality of discussion
  • Clarity of writing
  • References and citations
  • Overall significance

Step 5. Editorial Decision

Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the editor makes one of the following decisions:

  • Accept
  • Minor Revision
  • Major Revision
  • Reject

Step 6. Author Revision

Authors revise the manuscript according to the reviewers' and editors' comments and resubmit the revised version within the specified deadline.

If necessary, the revised manuscript will be sent for a second round of peer review.

Step 7. Final Acceptance

The Editor-in-Chief makes the final publication decision after ensuring that all reviewer comments have been adequately addressed and that the manuscript meets the journal's quality standards.

Step 8. Copyediting

Accepted manuscripts undergo professional copyediting to improve grammar, consistency, formatting, and reference accuracy while preserving the scientific content.

Step 9. Layout Editing and Proofreading

The manuscript is converted into the journal's publication format. Authors receive page proofs to review and approve before publication.

Step 10. Online Publication

The final version of the article is published online in the scheduled journal issue and becomes immediately available through the journal's Open Access platform.
