Guidelines for Responsible AI Usage in the Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Profesi Guru

For Authors

1. Ethical and Responsible Use

Authors are required to transparently disclose any use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in the preparation and implementation of community service activities, including activity planning, preparation of educational or training materials, data collection, data analysis, documentation, evaluation, and manuscript preparation.

Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of all content presented in the manuscript. Any AI-assisted content must be carefully reviewed, verified, and appropriately acknowledged.

Authors must comply with applicable privacy and data protection regulations when using AI tools. Personal, confidential, or sensitive information obtained from community participants must not be uploaded to AI systems without obtaining appropriate consent and implementing necessary safeguards.

Authors are responsible for identifying and mitigating potential biases or inaccuracies generated by AI tools to ensure that community service activities and their reported outcomes are fair, accurate, relevant, and beneficial to the target community.

All AI-assisted content must comply with applicable intellectual property, copyright, and ethical standards.

2. AI in Community Service Activities and Program Evaluation

Authors should critically assess the appropriateness of AI tools in relation to the objectives, characteristics, and needs of the community service program.

AI may be used to support activities such as the development of training materials, educational content, communication materials, data processing, program evaluation, and documentation, provided that its use does not replace the professional judgment and direct engagement of the community service team.

Any information, analysis, or evaluation results generated with AI assistance must be verified using appropriate methods and evidence obtained from the community service activities.

Authors should ensure that the use of AI contributes to the effectiveness, accessibility, and quality of community service activities while maintaining ethical standards and respect for community participants.

3. Academic Integrity and Originality

The use of AI tools must be transparently acknowledged in the manuscript when such use has materially contributed to the preparation, implementation, analysis, or reporting of the community service activity.

Manuscripts submitted to the journal must reflect the authors' original contributions, professional expertise, critical thinking, and direct involvement in designing and implementing community service activities.

AI-generated content must not be presented as the authors' original work. Authors remain responsible for all statements, interpretations, data, and conclusions contained in the manuscript.

4. Transparency and Collaboration

Authors are encouraged to establish clear agreements among members of the community service team regarding the appropriate use of AI tools, data handling, confidentiality, and responsibility for AI-assisted content.

When AI tools are used in collaboration with community partners, facilitators, or other stakeholders, authors should ensure that their use is appropriate, transparent, and does not compromise the rights, privacy, or interests of community participants.

Any use of AI in preparing materials or communicating information to community participants should be carefully reviewed by the community service team to ensure that the information is accurate, culturally appropriate, understandable, and relevant to the target community.

For Reviewers

Reviewers must treat submitted manuscripts as confidential documents. Reviewers should not upload manuscripts, supplementary materials, or other confidential information into generative AI tools without explicit authorization from the journal.

Uploading manuscripts into external AI systems may compromise confidentiality, intellectual property rights, and data privacy, particularly when manuscripts contain personal information or sensitive information about community participants.

Reviewers remain fully responsible for the content, accuracy, and academic judgment expressed in their reviews. AI tools should not replace the reviewer's independent academic assessment.

For Editors

Editors must treat submitted manuscripts and all associated materials as confidential documents.

Editors should not upload manuscripts, reviewer reports, personal information, or other confidential materials into generative AI tools without appropriate authorization and safeguards.

Editors are responsible for ensuring that the use of AI within the editorial and peer-review process does not compromise confidentiality, privacy, intellectual property rights, or the integrity of the publication process.

Any use of AI in editorial activities must be conducted transparently, ethically, and in accordance with the journal's policies and applicable regulations.
