Understanding fundamental mathematical concepts, particularly the area of plane figures, is crucial for students of the elementary school teacher education study program. Despite learning these concepts since elementary school, many of them still struggle to fully understand it. This study aims to identify the mathematical prior knowledge students in the area of plane figures and the types of errors they make using the Newman Error Analysis (NEA) approach. The research employs a descriptive quantitative method with instruments comprising essay tests and interviews. The study subjects consisted of 35 students from an elementary school teacher education study program in East Kalimantan. Results reveal that 67.7% of the students possess moderate mathematical prior knowledge, while the rest fall into the low and high categories. The most common errors occur in the comprehension and transformation stages, indicating difficulties in understanding problems and converting information into mathematical forms. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of appropriate learning strategies or models to strengthen students' understanding of basic mathematical concepts.
2024-12-26T00:00:00+08:00Copyright (c) 2024 Fitri Aida Sarihttps://jurnal.fkip.unmul.ac.id/index.php/tunas/article/view/4606Penerapan Media Video Pembelajaran dalam Meningkatkan Minat Belajar PPKn Siswa Kelas III SDN 008 Sungai Kunjang2025-01-10T07:17:18+08:00Raditya Puja Saraswatiradityasaraswati08@gmail.comIksamiksam@fkip.unmul.ac.idTaufik Hidayattaufik.hidayat@fkip.unmul.ac.id
The lack of learning interest of SDN 008 Sungai Kunjang grade III students, especially in the subject of PPKn, prompted this study to examine the effect of implementing learning video media on increasing students' learning interest. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection methods through questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used included data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The study results showed that using creative and interactive learning video media can increase students' interest, motivation, and participation in PPKn learning. Learning videos are considered effective in facilitating students' understanding of the material, as well as increasing their enthusiasm and involvement in the learning process. In addition, the findings of this study indicate that learning videos have great potential to be an alternative media that is more interesting and motivating for students, especially in the context of PPKn learning. Based on these findings, it is recommended that teachers use relevant learning videos and the needs of the material to improve the quality of the learning process in the classroom.
2025-01-16T00:00:00+08:00Copyright (c) 2024 Raditya Puja Saraswati, Iksam, Taufik Hidayathttps://jurnal.fkip.unmul.ac.id/index.php/tunas/article/view/4640Tingkat Kesiapan dan Tantangan Calon Guru Sekolah Dasar dalam Menyusun Modul Ajar Berbasis Kurikulum Merdeka2025-01-21T04:46:48+08:00Melinda Yanuarmelindayanuar1992@gmail.comFitri Aida Sarifitrisari@fkip.unmul.ac.id
The readiness of prospective elementary school teachers in compiling teaching modules for the Independent Curriculum is crucial in elementary school learning. The use of learning media in the classroom is still dominated by books and loaded in the form of text, especially in IPAS subjects so that students tend to be passive and less active in learning because the learning media used are less interesting and look less real. This study aims to explain the media development process, media feasibility, and effectiveness of the media. This research uses the Research and Development method with the ADDIE model which consists of 5 procedures namely Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The research subjects were 23 fifth grade students of Al-Quds Samarinda Islamic Elementary School and the object was Callytikya learning media that had been developed. Callytikya is the name of the product developed by the researcher which stands for Canva Genially Geographical Characteristics of Indonesian Regions. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The data analysis technique uses quantitative descriptive data analysis. The research findings are as follows: (1) produce a product called Callytikya, namely learning media based on Canva and Genially; (2) Callytikya learning media has met the eligibility criteria (eligibility of material experts 88%, media experts 92%, and linguists 90%) with a very feasible category; (3) Callytikya learning media has met the criteria.
2025-02-01T00:00:00+08:00Copyright (c) 2025 Nurfina Azmia Dinata, Taufik Hidayat, Makmun, Mustamirohhttps://jurnal.fkip.unmul.ac.id/index.php/tunas/article/view/4659Pengaruh Media Berbasis Permainan Edukatif Wordwall Terhadap Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Mata Pelajaran IPAS2025-01-29T11:51:58+08:00Putri Rahayuputrira750@gmail.comTaufik Hidayattaufik.hidayat@fkip.unmul.ac.idMakmunmakmun@fkip.unmul.ac.idMustamirohmustamiroh@fkip.unmul.ac.id
The low critical thinking skills of fifth-grade students at a private elementary school in Samarinda, especially in the IPAS (Social Studies and Science) subject, led to this research to examine the effect of the word wall-based educational game media on the student’s critical thinking skills. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, specifically a nonequivalent control group design. The sampling technique used in this study is saturated sampling, where the entire population of fifth-grade students is selected as the research sample. Data in this study were collected through questionnaires, tests, and documentation. Data analysis techniques included normality tests, homogeneity tests, independent sample t-tests, and n-gain score tests. The result shows that the significance value in the independent sample t-test is 0.002 0.005, indicating a significant effect of word wall-based educational game media on students’ critical thinking skills in the IPAS subject. Furthermore, the word wall media is effective in improving students’ critical thinking skills, with an experimental class n-gain score of 0.48 (moderate category) and a control class n-gain score of 0.27 (low category). The findings of this study suggest that the use of Wordwall media can enhance student motivation and engagement in the learning process, which can subsequently contribute to the improvement of their critical thinking skills. Based on these findings, the researcher recommends that future studies explore other learning materials or topics as a focus for research so that the findings can be more varied.
2025-02-01T00:00:00+08:00Copyright (c) 2025 Putri Rahayu23, Taufik Hidayat, Makmun, Mustamiroh
