This study aimed to know the implementation of teacher’s pedagogical competence of English Department students as pre- service teacher of PLP 2021, and to find out which pedagogical competence aspects that the English Department students as pre-service teacher of PLP 2021 implemented in their teaching practice. This study employed qualitative descriptive research by using interview guidelines and note-taking from the lesson plans and teaching videos. The research subjects for this study were the English Department students who followed PLP 2021, by the total of six subjects. In order to collect and analyze the data, the researcher used interactive data analysis which consists of data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusion/verification. The findings of this study revealed that the research subjects (2018 English Department students of Mulawarman University) have different efforts to conduct teaching English according to their own knowledge and skill. In addition, it is known that the students did not implement all aspects of pedagogic competence while writing the lesson plans and making/searching the teaching videos to be used in their teaching practice. The design of the study was qualitative approach. The sample of this study was eleven news articles taken from March to May 2021. Political correctness categorizations were taken from the works of John (2017), Andary-Brophy (2015), and Monashnenko, Amelina, and Shynkaruk (2021). The finding was that The Jakarta Post used: eight PC-Liberalism and three PC-Authoritarianism types; two politeness, one accuracy, three academic, and five conformity variants; and seven euphemisms of discrimination, one euphemism of unpleasant reality, and three euphemisms of people’s lives. The data analysis result exhibited that The Jakarta Post mainly used political correctness for conformity, adhering to the practices of liberalism, and avoiding terms that may be discriminatory. The study used DigComp 2.0 framework by Vuorikari et al. (2016). The design of the study was qualitative case study. The data sources were focus group interviews and observations with the participants of pre-service teachers of the English Language Education Department class of 2020 in Mulawarman University. The sample of the study was 29 pre-service teachers from class A and class C. The findings of the study showed that pre-service teachers have acquired knowledge and abilities in digital competence areas such as information and data literacy, communication and collaboration, digital content creation, safety, and problem-solving. However, pre-service teachers did not progress in ‘’Copyright and licenses’’ &amp; ‘’Programming’’ sub-competences. This research is conducted to explore the use of Digital Story Telling method to help teaching and learning process in English department students of Mulawarman University to develop their ability to speak English. This study used a descriptive qualitative design to analyze the data. The subjects of the study were three students of English Teaching and Learning faculty Academic year 2019. The instrument used in this study were their English speaking score as documents and interview questions. The result showed that using digital story telling made students learn through various ways of learning by using all creative skills they have which was interesting and useful. Digital storytelling affecting both of the students’ hard skill and soft skill. It is a qualitatve study using content analysis to analyze the data based on Lakoff and Johnson (1980) theory for types of metaphors and Leech (1974) for affective meaning theory. There are 34 data that are analyzed which consist of 15 orientational, 14 ontological and 5 structural metaphors.
