Modifikasi biji pepaya sebagai biosorben zat warna tekstil mordant black 11
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui zat pengaktivator dan suhu karbonasi optimum biosorben biji pepaya untuk mengadsorpsi zat warna tekstil mordant black 11. Prinsip kerja dari penelitian ini adalah preparasi serbuk biji pepaya, aktivitasi, karbonasi, serta aplikasi. Aplikasi menggunakan zat warna tekstil mordant black 11. Penentuan kadar zat warna tekstil mordant black 11 sebelum dan sesudah adsorpsi diukur dengan menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Variabel bebas adalah zat pengaktivasi (H2SO4, NaOH) dan suhu karbonisasi (200ﹾC, 300ﹾC, 400ﹾC, 500ﹾC, dan 600ﹾC). Variabel terikat adalah persentase penyerapan zat warna tekstil mordant black 11. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa biosorben yang diaktivasi asam lebih baik daripada biosorben yang diaktivasi basa dalam kemampuannya menyerap zat warna tekstil mordant black 11. Pada variasi suhu karbonasi didapatkan suhu karbonasi optimum pada biosorben biji pepaya dengan aktivasi asam yaitu pada suhu 500ﹾC dengan persentase zat warna terserap sebesar 55,46%, sedangkan suhu karbonasi optimum pada biosorben biji pepaya dengan aktivasi basa adalah suhu 400ﹾC dengan persentase zat warna terserap 26,88%
